Gary Cleave

Gary Cleave joined Purfresh in 2021 and is a high impact operational executive spanning over 30 years of demonstrated success transforming businesses in international transportation sectors. Through direct engagement with customers and the establishment of clear data driven key performance measures, he consistently improves service quality and satisfaction levels. This holistic approach with close attention to detail leads to increased efficiencies and customer success.

Prior to joining Purfresh Cleave spent over 30 years on the Ocean Carrier side most recently contributing to Hapag-Lloyd’s success as Senior Vice President (SVP), Area Gulf Pacific managing a team comprised of >200 staff in seven offices accountable for sales, customer service, operations, and business administration functions.

His career began in London before he moved to Antwerp as Commercial Coordinator with Lykes Lines, relocating to the U.S. several years later to embrace progressively responsible positions with CP Ships and Hapag-Lloyd.

Gary has been a long-time participant with the British American Business Council, German American Chamber of Commerce, National Defense Transportation Association and most recently joined the Propeller Club of Texas.

Cleave attended City of London Polytechnic majoring in their Institute of Export, Foundation Course in Overseas Trades and Markets. During his free time Gary enjoys the theater, live concerts and cinema along with hiking and his favorite fruits are Blueberries and strawberries.

Stephan Dolezalek


Stephan is Founder and Managing Partner of Resourcient Group LLC in San Francisco, a new initiative to promote scalable investment in resource efficient businesses.

He has spent more than 30 years as a lawyer, investor, founder and director helping technology-driven Silicon Valley companies in the information technology, communications, biotechnology and clean energy fields grow to global scale. Until recently, he was also Managing Director at VantagePoint Capital Partners; leading its CleanTech Group since its inception. Prior to joining VantagePoint in 1999, he spent 17 years as a corporate and securities attorney, lastly as Chairman of the Life Sciences Group and Managing Partner for the Palo Alto office of the then 900-lawyer Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison.

He is a graduate of the School of Architecture at the University of Virginia (BCP) and the University of Virginia School of Law (JD).
